Did you know? (From NYSED)
LEP/ELL students are now allowed to use the NYS bilingual math glossaries on the 3-8 assessments. The exact language from the 2010 Administration Manual states: "English language learners may use bilingual dictionaries and glossaries when taking the Grades 3 - 8 Mathematics Tests. These bilingual dictionaries and glossaries may provide only direct translations of words. Bilingual dictionaries or glossaries that provide definitions or explanations of words are not permitted." They will also be allowed for ELL students taking Regents exams. If you haven't seen them they are available at the NYSED site. You can access them (as well as other subject gloassaries) by clicking the following link: NYS Bilingual Glossaries.
