Video Conferencing
Video Conferencing units such as Polycom and Tandberg offer teachers and students a multitude of ways to collaborate with others thousands of miles away. Classes can go on "field trips", teachers can co-teach lessons, and students can share educational experiences with peers aroudn the world. *The Global Nomads Group creates education programs and media about global issues for youth. Young people from around the world learn about and discuss the global issues that affect their lives. This powerful video clip highlights some of their work. Most recently, they have connected students from around the U.S. with students of Haitian decent to discuss the January 12, 2010 earthquake that resulted in much trangedy. Highlights from this conncetion can be viewed here.
