PROGRAM MISSION:  Turning Point is a K-12 program serving the needs of students in an 8:1:1 setting who are classified with Emotional Disabilities.  We operate with four elementary, five middle school and six high school classrooms.  Turning Point also operates as a Day Treatment Program.  Students have access to Day Treatment counselors, psychiatric consultation, and crisis intervention services.

THE CIRCLE OF COURAGE:  The symbol at the top of this page is "The Circle of Courage".  Turning Point is located in The Smith School which is a Circle of Courage School.  The Circle is the basis of the philosophy of The Reclaiming Youth Network.  Reclaiming Youth is an international organization of youth workers dedicated to research-based practices geared toward success for students at-risk.  The Circle has four components: Belonging, Mastery, and Independence & Generosity.  These are the principals that guide our work with students, professionals, families and the community at large.
