Announcements Superintendent Profile Ellen O'Donnell began her tenure with TST BOCES on February 14, 2005. Prior to coming to Ithaca, Dr. O'Donnell served as Superintendent of Schools in Chenango Forks Central School District in the Broome-Tioga BOCES since 2001. She also was the Assistant Superintendent in that same district from 1997 to 2001. Prior administrative jobs included Principal of Bainbridge Middle/Senior High School in the DCMO BOCES from 1992-1997. Earlier administrative experience also included Assistant Principal in the Whitney Point Middle School from 1990-1992. Her teaching experience was done in the Binghamton Schools from 1974 to 1990 in the secondary English classroom. Dr. O'Donnell received a doctoral degree along with two Masters degrees (in English and teaching) and a Bachelor's degree from Binghamton University. Her licensing for administrative work was done through the Cortland CAS program. In her position as District Superintendent Dr. O'Donnell works both for the BOCES Board of Education and the Commissioner of Education. Thirty seven district superintendents currently serve the State of New York. Since her arrival Dr. O'Donnell has been the consultant in both Lansing and Groton in their searches for superintendents of schools. She has also worked to provide leadership to the BOCES in implementing the requirements of the Commissioner's Reorganizational Study. These include streamlining and making more efficient Career and Technical Education courses, expanding School Improvement Services and increasing the use of shared teachers throughout the BOCES.
