Basic 30 Hour Review - July 2021
"I had promised myself that I would send you some feedback yesterday, but didn't get around to it. From my perspective the entire thing was a huge success. I would imagine that people absorb information more readily when they are comfortable, and we certainly were that. An air-conditioned cafeteria in the middle of a heatwave, and being fed as well. You're lucky that I left at all. The first day I brought a can of beefaroni until I saw that food was being provided.
I was very impressed with Dave as an instructor. Both of you were very knowledgeable, and I thought that you complimented each other well. Being able to switch back and forth as you did kept the training fresh and gave both of you a breather. Dave had valuable perspective that you can only get from someone with that kind of experience. He will not be an easy person to replace at Tioga. One moment in the training that stuck out to me was when the Dryden guy told his "I'm the boss" story. What Dave said about the driver being in charge of the operation of the bus, but working together with the monitor made a lot of sense to me. I'm going to remember that.New people on the job are very impressionable and can be molded by the attitudes of their coworkers. Like Dave said a few different times, positivity breeds positivity. I mention that now because I felt as though this was excellent training that couldn't help but make a good impression on a group of relatively new bus drivers.Well done. I would attend that training every year if they let me."
