The Adult Education program has a new home in the heart of downtown Ithaca at the Tompkins Cortland Community College Ithaca Extension Center in Tioga Place.
The Tioga Place building, located directly above the Commons at 118 North Tioga Street, now houses TST BOCES Adult Education administrative offices and English as a Second Language (ESL) classrooms. The new location is easily accessible and provides a high-quality academic setting for ESL classes.
“The building is much better,” said ESL student Cristiane Toffoli. “I think it is a more professional place. I feel comfortable and I like to come here.”
ESL classes are offered to students of all levels, from intermediate to advanced. The program is designed to empower and prepare students to reach their goals such as receiving a High School Equivalency diploma, entering college, entering the workforce or advancing their careers. Classes are tailored to match students’ needs.
“We are very excited about our new location,” said Dr. Jon Nicoletti, Administrator of Adult Education at TST BOCES. “Our offices and classrooms are very professional and academically focused, and being downtown by the Commons makes it easy for students to attend classes. Student feedback has been extremely positive!”
Also partnering with Tompkins Cortland Community College are the New York State Small Business Development Center and Challenge Workforce Solutions. Both organizations are establishing new offices at the College’s Ithaca Extension Center.
