This month's winner, as chosen by the Tompkins County Legislature, is Carolyn Verret, a senior at Ithaca High School and in the Criminal Justice Program at TST BOCES. At IHS. Carolyn has been inducted into the National Honor Society and has won multiple awards. In her Criminal Justice class, Carolyn is a humble leader, a multiple Student of the Month Award recipient, High Honor Roll Achiever and earned the Highest Achiever Award in her first year of the program. Outside of school, Carolyn is in the United States Air Force Auxiliary Civil Air Patrol and is the Vice Chair for the South Central Group Cadet Advisory Council. She's volunteered with Loaves and Fishes, the Groton Food Pantry and Cops, Kids and Toys. This is why Carolyn Verret is this month's deserving recipient of the Distinguished Youth Award.
