Solid Waste and Recycling
TST BOCES has provided Solid Waste and Recycling services to the BOCES campus and sixteen participating school districts in the area since 1993. TST BOCES is the only BOCES in New York State that provides this service. Refuse and waste are collected and transported from participating districts to area landfills and transfer stations and recyclable items are also collected and sold on the open market to generate revenue which is used to lower overall program costs for the participating school districts. TST BOCES has been a pioneer in establishing recycling programs that have assisted area school districts since the program inception in 1993 in collecting and hauling recyclable materials for the school districts. The program also currently coordinates the pick-up and disposal of confidential records along with the hauling of scrap metal and used tires for the participating schools.
