The doors to Bistro 555 are opening once again, welcoming staff, students, and community members to enjoy fresh lunches prepared by TST BOCES Career & Tech Culinary Arts students. Located on the TST BOCES campus, Bistro 555 serves as both a dining spot and a hands-on classroom where students turn their culinary lessons into real-world experience.
Fresh Menus and Flexible Dining Options
Bistro 555 will begin serving lunch on Tuesday, October 27th, with service available most Tuesdays through Fridays. Guests are encouraged to dine in or take advantage of the takeout option. To make pickup smooth and convenient for busy schedules, guests can place call-ahead takeout orders by calling (607) 257-1555 ext. 2011.
The program also continues its focus on sustainability with eco-friendly to-go packaging and reusable bags created by Digital Media students, available for purchase for $2 each.
Each week features a unique theme, allowing Culinary Arts students to explore different cultural cuisines and culinary styles. Weekly menus are posted on Instagram (@tst_bistro555), giving guests a preview of upcoming offerings. To reduce food waste and keep costs affordable, entrées are paired directly with standard sides.
Every day, guests can add a fresh homemade soup and bread to their meal. Additionally, two different salad options and two dessert options will be offered throughout the entire service week (Tuesday through Friday).
Pricing & Dietary Accommodations
Meals remain affordably priced:
Entrées (includes side): $4.00 (Note: Prices may fluctuate slightly depending on special weekly offerings)
Homemade Soups: $1.00 (Small) / $1.25 (Large)
Fresh-Baked Bread: $0.50
Salads & Desserts: $1.50 each
The Culinary Arts team takes food allergies and dietary restrictions seriously. Patrons with allergy or dietary questions are encouraged to call extension 2011 prior to ordering.
Real-World Learning in Action
Bistro 555 gives students the chance to learn through doing, from menu design and prep to customer service and kitchen management. Under the guidance of Mrs. Fitzgerald and Ms. Cargian, students have been hard at work since the first week of school researching food cultures, flavor pairings, and techniques.
"The students are eager to share their culinary expertise, and we’re grateful for the community’s ongoing support," shared Mrs. Fitzgerald. "Please remember that our students are still learning, and we appreciate the grace and support our patrons extend to them throughout the year."
There may be times throughout the school year when the Bistro will be closed. Please know that they are a classroom first and will remain open whenever possible.
