It’s always special to meet the future and today we welcomed our newest P-TECH cohort of students for Day 1 of Bridge Week! 🎉🤝
Our day was full of connection, creativity, and collaboration. From spaghetti tower challenges to digital creations in Adobe and TinkerCAD, students explored what it means to be part of our P-TECH community.
We focused on learning about ourselves, each other, and the Tompkins Cortland Community College spaces we call home during the school year. We can’t wait to build on today’s energy with Day 2 tomorrow! 🚀💡

Nothing says "summer kickoff" like Hot Dog Day at TST BOCES! 🌭☀️
Last Friday, we gathered for one of our favorite traditions—Hot Dog Day! Every staff member joined in for food, laughter, and the kind of community spirit that makes TST so special.
This year’s celebration brought next-level energy:
👕 Our District Superintendent Lily Talcott rocked a hot dog bowling shirt
🧢 Staff showed up in themed pants, hats, earrings, and even hair clips!
🦖 An inflatable dinosaur roamed the halls
📸 And of course, we took plenty of photos to capture the fun!
Alongside our Board of Education, we proudly honored staff with service pins recognizing 5 to 35 years of dedication. 💐 We also celebrated those stepping into retirement, grateful for the years they’ve given to us and the impact they've had in our organization.

Earlier this week, Turning Point Elementary hosted its annual end-of-year awards ceremony to celebrate each student in a meaningful and personal way. 💬💖
Teachers and staff each selected one word to describe every student, capturing their strengths, growth, and unique spirit. Those words were then woven into word cloud keepsakes shaped like something the student loves—Minecraft, Spiderman, butterflies, horses, and more. 🎮🦸🦋
Families and friends joined the celebration, cheering as each student received their custom picture. It was a heartfelt way to honor how far our students have come and the bright futures ahead. 🌟 Congratulations to all, and have a wonderful summer! ☀️

Due to the Extreme Heat Warning in Ithaca, the RAS Graduation Ceremony will no longer be held at Robert H. Treman Park.
🎓 The ceremony will now take place indoors at the TST BOCES Smith School Gymnasium on our main campus.
🕑 Start time remains 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.
❄️ The new location is air-conditioned to keep everyone safe and comfortable.

1️⃣ 🚨🐾 Welding Meets K-9 Duty
When the Cornell University Police Department needed to create space for transporting two K-9s, our junior welding students custom-built a divider for Sgt. Hollenbeck’s SUV, making sure K-9 Axel and his new partner K-9 Cooper, can ride safely together.
2️⃣ 🇺🇸🔧 Flag Box Revamp for the Groton American Legion
A worn-out flag disposal box in Groton got a full makeover thanks to our senior welding and auto body students. Welding repaired the metalwork, and Auto Body painted a patriotic tribute. A fresh, proud place for the respectful retirement of American flags.
3️⃣ 💥🤝 Welding Booths for Auto Body
With welding now part of the Auto Body curriculum, our welding seniors designed and installed custom booths for their classmates, bringing collaboration and craftsmanship together under one roof.
4️⃣ 🚧🌿 Adopt-A-Highway: Public Safety in Action
Our Public Safety class wrapped up their spring Adopt-a-Highway cleanup on Brown Road! If you're driving through, take a moment to notice how beautiful the area is looking, thanks to their hard work.
