🐐 It was a baa-rilliant day in Animal Science! 🐐 Students got hands-on experience with baby goats just 3 and 5 days old, conducting pre-surgical exams, collecting health histories, and assisting the veterinarian by monitoring vitals during the goats’ sedation for castration and disbudding surgery. After successful procedures, our students provided post-operative care, ensuring the little ones were happy and healthy. 🙌 Spotlight on Student Leadership!🌐 Earlier this month, our CTE SkillsUSA chapter took four talented seniors — Talen Harrington, Joshua Clendenning, Ryan Rose, and Nicole Morrow — to the Fall Leadership Conference in Albany, NY! 🗽 These four represented TST alongside over 500 SkillsUSA members from across NYS, participating in hands-on workshops, advisor training, Capitol tours, and even bonding over karaoke and ice cream dance parties! 🍦🎶 A big shoutout to Talen and Joshua for delivering inspiring speeches to the whole conference! 🎓🌟 College-Bound & Beyond! 🎓🌟 Over the past few weeks, our CTE school counselors have been hosting College Application Workshops, providing 1:1 support to help students make the most of New York’s FREE College Application Month. With application fees waived at over 140 colleges statewide from October 21 to November 3, many of our students have jumped on this opportunity, applying to multiple colleges and paving the way for their futures!. 📑✨ Last week we welcomed Tompkins Cortland Community College Admissions Advisor Earl De Los Santos for an 'Instant Admit Day', offering students on-the-spot admissions and personalized degree planning guidance. With Earl's help, many of our seniors received same-day acceptance to TC3, giving them a confident start toward their college journey! 📅💼 We know it's only November, but June will be here before we know it! P-TECH’s Ultimate Frisbee Tournament was a battle of grit and glory! 🥏💥 Today, students, staff, and even P-TECH alumni hit the Tompkins Cortland Community College Field House for an epic Ultimate Frisbee showdown, marking the end of the frisbee unit in PE. Organized by Mr. Schutt, 8 teams battled it out in true tournament style to see who would reign supreme. 💪🔥 With cheers from sidelines, each team brought their A-game, and it all came down to one epic final match: Team Staggering Talent of Great Proportions (S.T. of G.P.) vs. Team Academic Avengers. After weeks of hard work, creativity, and skill, our Auto Body seniors transformed two wrecked Hondas into showroom-ready masterpieces for this year’s Battle of the Cars! ⚙️ 🏁 Each year, our Auto Body seniors are split into two teams and challenged to bring a wrecked car back to life—think major dents, scrapes, missing mirrors, headlights, and more. Once the cars are fully re-finished, they’re displayed on TST's quad, where the campus votes on the best paint job and body work. 🧰 🖌️ This year, it was a neck-and-neck race between Team Red and Team Yellow!
