Last week Smith School students got to enjoy a day of outdoor fun! Students enjoyed corn-hole, three-legged & potato sack races, along with hoops, laughter, kick-ball, and plenty of friendly competition! 🏃‍♂️😄

The day ended with an exciting costumed staff race! You’ll have to look through the photos to see who won.🏅

🏅 One week ago today, our students were making memories, trying new events, and cheering each other on at the 10th Annual Dryden Games!

This incredible tradition brings students together from across our region for a day of friendship, encouragement, and fun. Judging by the smiles, it's safe to say everyone had a great time. 💙

🐛 Our students wrapped up a year of learning with some very wiggly visitors!

As part of a year-long partnership between TST BOCES and Cornell Cooperative Extension focused on food waste education and action, our friends from CCE recently stopped by Ms. Rink-Cortright's classroom to educate students about composting, recycling, and reducing food waste. With hands-on activities and plenty of earthworms, it was the perfect way to celebrate a successful year of environmental learning.

Throughout the year, CCE's Master Composters worked with several of our classrooms, bringing engaging environmental education directly to our students! Thank you to CCE for this amazing partnership, we're already looking forward to next year! 🌱

The future of science was on full display at the New Visions Life Sciences Symposium earlier this week! 🧬

Students got up in front of a full room and presented their research projects on a wide range of scientific topics, such as bacterial regulation, glioblastoma research, food safety testing, animal health, and marine ecology. 🎤📈

Congratulations to our incredible TST Trailblazers for their success at the recent 2026 New York State FFA Convention! 🌟💙💛

The New Visions Life Science Food Science Team, Mary-Kate Quinn (Lansing), Kendyll Hathron (Lansing), Abril Peralta (Ithaca), and John Feenan (Trumansburg), earned 1st Place overall and will represent New York State at the National FFA Convention this October in Indianapolis, Indiana!

TST BOCES Career and Tech's Animal Science program also had two stduents become NYS FFA Champions and will advance to compete at the national level!

What started as a weathered 1949 Farmall tractor became a year-long collaborative restoration project involving students from Auto Tech, Auto Body, Heavy Equipment, Welding, and Digital Media at TST BOCES Career and Tech!

The finished restoration was unveiled at last year’s TST BOCES Car Show before being returned to its owners.
Now, students are gearing up to host the 33rd Annual TST BOCES Car Show this Sunday, May 17 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at our main campus at 555 Warren Road in Ithaca! 🚗

The event will feature classic and custom vehicles, food, trophies, a $500 door prize, and more, all while supporting our SkillsUSA students and Career & Technical Education programs.

Last week Ithaca's Fall Creek Elementary School 5th graders had the exciting experience of visiting our Career & Tech Education Construction Trades students to learn how to build bird houses!🐦

The students got to work collaborating as they drilled and hammered away until they had fully constructed bird houses that'll one day be called home by our feathered friends. It was such a fun shared activity that allowed hands-on learning to truly soar! 🔨🪽

Last Friday, 35 students from Dryden, Groton, Lansing, and Trumansburg participated in our Regional Seal of Biliteracy Presentation Day, showcasing their proficiency in Czech, Polish, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, French, and Spanish.
Students presented on topics of their choice in their selected language to panels of judges fluent in that language, demonstrating the communication and cultural skills required to earn the New York State Seal of Biliteracy on their diploma.

Coordinated by TST's Regional School Success team, the event welcomed administrators, teachers, judges, and family members who gathered to support and celebrate the students’ hard work and achievement.

Congratulations to all of the students on this incredible accomplishment! 🏅
