Treman Park. 🎓 The ceremony will now take place indoors at the TST BOCES Smith School Gymnasium on our main campus. 🕑 Start time remains 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. ❄️ The new location is air-conditioned to keep everyone safe and comfortable. Check out the impact they’ve made lately ⬇️ 1️⃣ 🚨🐾 Welding Meets K-9 Duty When the Cornell University Police Department needed to create space for transporting two K-9s, our junior welding students custom-built a divider for Sgt. Hollenbeck’s SUV, making sure K-9 Axel and his new partner K-9 Cooper, can ride safely together. 2️⃣ 🇺🇸🔧 Flag Box Revamp for the Groton American Legion A worn-out flag disposal box in Groton got a full makeover thanks to our senior welding and auto body students. Welding repaired the metalwork, and Auto Body painted a patriotic tribute. A fresh, proud place for the respectful retirement of American flags. 3️⃣ 💥🤝 Welding Booths for Auto Body With welding now part of the Auto Body curriculum, our welding seniors designed and installed custom booths for their classmates, bringing collaboration and craftsmanship together under one roof. 4️⃣ 🚧🌿 Adopt-A-Highway: Public Safety in Action Our Public Safety class wrapped up their spring Adopt-a-Highway cleanup on Brown Road! Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Dryden Central School District Superintendent Joshua Bacigalupi and BOE members Tami Tabone and Leslie Debo to TST BOCES. The visit began at TST PTECH Academy where students proudly introduced their teachers, showcased class projects, and shared their work-based learning experiences. Guests were wowed by the impressive Tompkins Cortland Community College facilities that P-TECH students access every day. The tour continued on our main TST campus with a visit to TST BOCES Career and Tech Center, where guests explored the learning spaces Dryden CTE students call home, met teachers, and connected with CTE administrators. This week was the 19th annual New Visions Life Sciences Research Symposium and what a huge success it was! 🎉 Our students spent the year working with Cornell researchers on real-world science, diving into topics like atmospheric science, microbiology, veterinary science, and more. 🔬🌱 The symposium gave them a chance to share their research with peers, family, and mentors. A podium finish at a once-in-a-century event— our FFA students represented TST BOCES Career and Tech with pride at the 100th New York FFA Convention earlier this month! 🏆 Over the course of three days, 20 of our Animal Science students participated in hands-on workshops, leadership meetings, animal handling and showmanship trainings, and even gave back through service projects like assembling doggie goodie bags for local animal shelters. 🐾 Among the standout moments was the Veterinary Science Career Development Event, where 60 teams competed statewide. TST was represented by two teams—and one earned a spot on the podium! 👏 🥉 Congrats to Nicole Morrow, Ryan Rose, Evan Jackson, and Hannah Mason for placing third overall! To place among the top in the state during FFA’s 100th anniversary made this experience all the more memorable. 🧠💬 May is National Speech-Language-Hearing Month! 🗣️🔊 This month, we’re celebrating the many ways people communicate and the important role speech-language pathologists (SLPs) play in supporting our programs. Recently, our SLPs joined a few cooking classes to explore and model different ways people communicate. From AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices to eye gaze technology and switches, students had the opportunity to learn about the tools and techniques that help individuals share their thoughts, needs, and ideas. 📸 These images celebrate inclusive, communication-rich learning environments.
