With 12 bold and creative chilis, students and staff savored bites of Nacho Average Chili Bites (shhh… they’re vegan! 👀), fiery Sweet Heat chili, and the ultimate wild card—an ice cream that identifies as "chill-y." Every spoonful was a delicious reminder that food is best enjoyed together!

Tuesday’s 4th Annual Triple E brought together Heavy Equipment students and industry professionals for a day of networking, career exploration, and hands-on experience with cutting-edge equipment in the field.
The Education Employment Event (EEE) is organized annually by Dale Kinney and Jeff Brockway, CTE Heavy Equipment teachers, as an opportunity for their students to connect with industry partners and build personal relationships within the community. With graduation around the corner, the Triple E provides a pathway for students to engage with potential employers and explore future career opportunities.

Today our TST BOCES Career and Tech campus was alive with excitement as we hosted over 215 8th graders from Trumansburg, Dryden, and South Seneca!
The 8th graders not only explored our engaging CTE programs through hands-on activities but also met current TST PTECH Academy students and learned about P-TECH's 7 pathways to a FREE TC3 associate degree! 💡📚 P-TECH is currently enrolling 8th graders for the 2025-26 school year!
They also discovered our New Visions Programs, which offer 12th graders a unique, academically challenging senior year in specialized fields like Engineering, Health & Medical Sciences, Exercise & Health Sciences and Life Sciences. 🚀🔬

🔬⚙️ From Plasma to Precision—Our New Visions Engineering students put their skills to the test yesterday at Cornell NanoScale Facility! 🔬⚙️
Students got hands-on with advanced technology, using the Oxford PlasmaLab 80+ machine to precisely etch silicon nitride and the high-powered YES EcoClean Asher machine to remove photoresist with oxygen plasma. 🧑🔬
As a science experiment, students selected different thicknesses of silicon nitride to layer on their wafers. The result was a spectrum of vibrant colors—no two wafers were identical—as the varying thicknesses refracted light differently during the process. 🧪
Students left with custom-etched wafers resembling medals, proudly displaying "CNF ATLAS Program"—a one-of-a-kind keepsake from their time in the nano lab! 🏅
Superintendent Lily Talcott joined Mrs. Syracuse's seniors for this session, getting a firsthand look at the exciting, hands-on learning that defines the New Visions experience. 🎓

🔥 Turning Up the Heat with Hands-on Learning! 🔥
Yesterday, UA Local 81 — United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry—brought the heat to our campus!
CTE students in Construction Trades, Welding, Auto Technology, and World of Work Outdoor Rec got hands-on experience soldering copper pipes, working one-on-one with industry pros. 💪🛠️
With flames reaching over 450°F, students learned how to melt solder and create strong, precise pipe joints—without overheating the metal! 🔥🔩

Work with your home school counselor to set up a Tech Tuesday visit starting January 21 and running through April 11. On Tuesday, we opened the doors of TC3 to P-TECH's current students, prospective students, families, alumni, school administrators, and business partners for an evening celebrating everything that makes P-TECH extraordinary!
✅ Visitors explored P-TECH stations throughout TC3, learning how students earn a high school diploma and an associate's degree on Tompkins Cortland Community College—at no cost to families.
🕵️♂️ A scavenger hunt added an extra layer of fun as guests uncovered how P-TECH prepares students for success in both education and career!
🎓 We're still enrolling students from TST's component districts in grades 9 & 10, and we're now accepting applications from 8th graders for the 2025–2026 school year!
