Our New Visions Engineering students turned the TST BOCES Campus into mission control yesterday with their incredible rocket launches! Using OpenRocket software, they designed their rockets, tweaking fin size, shape orientation, body dimensions, and nose cone shape. The virtual test flights helped them predict height and stability, ensuring their creations were engineered for success, not just looks. 🧮 🧑🔬
While the rockets were in flight, our students used trigonometry to calculate the heights of their launches based on angle and distance measurements. Every student showcased their hard work by conducting research, writing papers, and designing impressive research posters. Friday was our highly anticipated yearly World of Work (WOW) picnic at Myers Park! Our three WOW classes—Career Exploration, Food Service, and Outdoor Recreation—spent the day bonding, playing games, painting, and reflecting on our school year successes. 🖌️🏀
After lunch was the recognition ceremony. This year was particularly special as we honored Mr. Iannello, one of our beloved WOW teachers, who is retiring after 15 amazing years at TST. The Outdoor Recreation class, along with everyone else, will truly miss him! ❤️
The cherry on top of this sweet day was an ice cream sundae bar, generously set up and funded by our Food Service class! 🍨🍒 This year, Food Service ran a campus-wide coffee bar called Sip, keeping our students and staff caffeinated throughout the year. The proceeds from Sip went toward the delicious Purity Ice Cream at our picnic!

Our Career Skills Program is a unique 1/2 day career exploration initiative offered in partnership with Cornell University. Each week, our students travel to Cornell’s campus to interact with Cornell University students who serve as mentors. These mentors help teach our students essential soft skills and other workplace readiness skills. Through this program, our students have the chance to explore a variety of realistic career options on the Cornell campus and gain a firsthand glimpse of what life after high school could look like for them. 🎓🌍

Last night TC3 hosted it's Class of 2024 Commencement and a very special group of graduates walked across the stage - our inaugural P-TECH class! 👩🎓👨🎓
Six years ago, we launched TST PTECH Academy, welcoming a bright-eyed group of 9th graders to a unique learning experience. With a focus on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math), these students spent their high school years (9th-12th grade) with us, earning college credits from TC3 and getting hands-on with cutting-edge technology. 🔭👨🔬
The best part? P-TECH students are automatically enrolled at TC3, and earn their associate's degree entirely for FREE! 📜🆓
